# $SKY Overview

$SKY is the official governance token of Skypath Security. The goals for the token are to (1) reward users for interacting within the Skypath ecosystem, (2) incentivize users to hold their tokens through reward systems and favorable tokenomics, and (3) decentralize governance for activities surrounding $SKY.

Due to its highly scalable and customizable network, $SKY was launched on the [Avalanche](https://www.avax.network/) ($AVAX) blockchain's Contract Chain (C-Chain). Skypath Security has partnered directly with Avalanche to utilize Avalanche subnets for managing client data and serving life-saving information to first responders during emergency situations.

While $SKY was designed to work with other Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and non-EVM blockchain networks, $SKY will initially trade and operate on Avalanche.

$SKY has implemented a Crypto Compliance Program (CCP) that includes controls to ensure compliance with all applicable US and non-US laws and regulations; protecting all US and non-US holders is a top priority.
